1012 Cabarrus Street
1012 Cabarrus Street was my BA Thesis presentation at DePaul University. The work consisted of both photographic work and a long essay. Below is an excerpt from the composition.
"Walking through each room, I noticed the house had been mostly emptied with only a few scattered items remaining – cleaning supplies in the kitchen, a table and computer in a bedroom, shaving supplies in the only bathroom, and a grandfather clock in the living area. At first, I was sorry that so much of Raymond’s belongings were already gone, but I then quickly saw the benefit of the near-vacant house. That it, alone, stood in memoriam – a space carved out by loss, filled in by reflections of lives lived, and refracted by architecture long forgotten."
